I bathe myself in the love of Sarah House every moment of everyday. The place that houses the people, the people who house the place. From resistance came acquiescence then acceptance and then complete surrender to unconditional love, seamless transitions to the depths of my true being, my true reason for being. Where I am going has given way to why I am here and why I am here is to be a conduit and regenerator of unconditional love.

Mom’s last days at Sarah House were a special experience. The Staff loved us, held us, encouraged us, and kept us openly informed. We feel blessed to have had you all a part of this time of life, to see her die in such a peaceful way.

I have learned that the meaning of extraordinary kindness at Sarah House is something that we should all incorporate into our lives, in all our interactions with others. I saw the unconditional love and acceptance open the heart of my brother in his last days and touch the hearts and minds of all his friends who witnessed the many acts of love he received. Thank you for giving my brother so much, as he had so little.

Our father was only there for four days and it made a world of difference to have him at Sarah House. I cannot say enough good things about your loving care. Sarah House helped rescue dad from a horrible situation. You are all amazing, angels on earth, and I cannot thank you enough!

In absolutely every way, your staff and volunteers provided comfort, understanding, respect, and guidance. Our family is so grateful to all of the Sarah House Staff. They made each of us feel like family.

California Hospice And Palliative Care Association presented Sarah House with the 2010 Outstanding Program Award. In a press release, CHAPCA described Sarah House as, “A place of sanctuary and warmth for residents, their families and their staff."

Thank you for creating a home that leads with love. The entire staff was wonderful every step of the way. Sarah House felt like a beautiful oasis during an extremely difficult time. Time spent in the garden was life-affirming and helpful on the darkest days. I am so very grateful for Dad’s ability to spend his last days in such a beautiful place with such special people. To all the wonderful staff at Sarah House, words cannot express the gratitude I have for what you all did for my grandma and my entire family. You helped me look at death as a beautiful journey that grandma was on, it really helped us get through a very difficult time. I would not have wanted to be anywhere else but there in your serene environment. I feel very fortunate that we got to be there with her.
